Comments : Inside Man
Two words (thanks to reno for the correction) to desribe this movie: excellent entertainment.
Having The Negotiator in mind, I was happily surprised with the movie. If you are waiting for a gloomy, hard story depicting "serious" negotiation between the good guys and the bad guys, you'd be as surprised as I was. It's a thriller indeed. It's about negotiation, true, but with side-kicks and black humour. The combination of thriller and comedy is refreshing. This thriller does not only make your heart throbbing all the way through the movie, it also makes you laugh and whisper: "that's a good one". It's like paying one ticket to watch two movies.
It is, indeed, a bargain.
Rapid rhythm combines with short flash-back and side stories keeps you awake and attentive. Skilled performances from all important characters and witty dialogues do not allow your mind to wander away, even for a second. Sarcastic humour, play on words, and reference-ladden remarks successfully show the irony of the hostage situation.
If you enjoy seeing rough-talking polices challenge sharp and composed criminals, while having a kicking-ass lady to boss around, you'd definitely enjoy the movie.
Shall I put a grade on this one? 5.5 out of 6!

Six being the max on the scale is an odd number.
Why six?
a+
Blm liat film ini, Clive Owen biasanya filmnya bagus, aktingnya lumayan.

I saw the review a week ago and keep telling myself since then that I really really really have to watch this movie at the cinema.
BTW, how are you, Pit ?

Macchi: It's strange, isn't it? The first time when I got this kind of grade I almost cry. Five cannot be good in Indonesian grading scale. Not even 'green'. :)
Let's see, if we put 1-10 scale, 5.5 should be 9-9.1 :)
Reno: Terima kasih koreksinya. Sudah tak ganti, maksudnya phrase begitu. *ngeles*
Wah..tutorial saya ada yang baca toh? Senangnya. :)
Silverlines: My dear...Go out, go to a cinema, buy huge popcorn and enjoy the ride. With someone will be great, but then going to the movie alone won't be that bad either. You never know whom you'd meet. A single attractive woman being alone in the cinema attracts lot of attention, you know. ;)

Inside Man isn't there yet in the cinemas here. I watched MI-III last night by the way.
Well, I couldn't help to say that Tom Cruise is still handsome, in spite of the bad publication he has ;-)
which there's no such thing as bad publication, right ?
But of course, I just hope that by the time Inside Man is out, someone will be in the right schedule to sit beside me at the cinema *winks*

I haven't watched MI 3 yet. Maybe next week. But I'm not that eager to watch Tom Cruise and his dazzling smile, I prefer to watch Truman Capote (if it's still in teather) or Vendetta first.
Gee...I guess Xavier has converted me into a critical movie viewer. Although I still enjoy cartoon and romantic comedy. There is still a girly thingy deep down inside me. ;)
